Who is it designed for
For qualified Bulgarian lawyers and foreign lawyers, who according to the Bulgarian legislation are entitled to perform lawyer activity in the Republic of Bulgaria.
Insurance cover
The lawyer’s liability defined in article 50 of the Lawyer’s Act for damages resulting from malpractice.
retroactive cover
After expiring the term of the first policy with HDI Insurance Company a retroactive cover could be agreed for mistakes, omissions and negligence made in previous insurance periods, for which damage has been claimed within the term of the insurance in force.
Territorial scope
This insurance shall cover only the damages, caused on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Sum insured
Upon agreement, but not less than BGN 20.000 according to the decision of the High Lawyer Council.
Insurance premium
The premium shall be calculated on the basis of the limits agreed, the scope of the insurance cover, the eventual deductible and the insurance term.
Conclusion and term of the insurance
The insurance shall be concluded on the basis of a detailed proposal, filled in by the Insurant, and against payment of the insurance premium or the first installment of it (in case installment payment has been agreed). The insurance policy shall be issued on the grounds of the proposal for the period agreed.
When is the insurance indemnity paid
The insurance indemnity shall be paid, when after receiving a claim in writing, the grounds and the size of the damage caused by the Insurant are proven.
