Compulsory Insurance Accident at Work
General provisions
The terms and order for compulsory insurance against the risk "accident at work" of the workers and the employees, performing a job during which there is a danger for their life and health, are stipulated in the Regulations for compulsory insurance of workers and employees against the risk "accident at work", promulgated in State Gazette, Nr. 15/17.02.2006. The Regulations were adopted on the grounds of article 52 of the Law on Health and Safety at Work.
Range of insurance
The range of the insurance shall be determined by a written order of the employee after consultations with the Work Medicine Office and the Work Conditions Committee/Group. The consultations are to be certified by Minutes. Compulsory insured shall be the workers and the employees, performing a job related to the main and subsidiary activity of the enterprise that belongs to economic activity with work traumatism, which is equal to or higher than the country's average one.
Insurance cover
- Death, resulting from an accident at work;
- Permanent disability, resulting from an accident at work;
- Temporary disability, resulting from an accident at work.
Sum insured
The sum insured shall be set on the basis of the month's gross salary of the insured workers and employees at the time of conclusion of the insurance.
- The sum insured for the risks "death" and "permanent disability" cannot be lower than the sevenfold annual gross salary of the respective worker or employee.
- The sum insured for the risk "temporary disability" cannot be lower than the month's gross salary.
Insurance premium
The insurance premium shall be calculated for each worker or employee as a percentage of the sum insured and in accordance with the risk class of the enterprise.
Insurance term
According to article 16 of the Regulations for compulsory insurance of workers and employees against the risk "accident at work", the contract for compulsory insurance Accident at work shall be concluded by the employer and the insurer for each calendar year. The term of the contract cannot be longer than 12 months and shorter than one month.
